Monday Kick-Butt Quote
“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.” ― Erma Bombeck
So, what are yours, Jesskah? Your dream lives in your head, yes. But, even just telling one person gives your dream power. I invite you today to tell one person about it. Just one!

5 Ways to Fill Your Morning with Positive Energy
1. A quick yoga practice! Whether you go to a studio or practice at home (check my app on iTunes), yoga can get you stretched, balanced and joyous for the day ahead. Or create your own flow that you feel your body, mind and soul need.
2. Dance it out to your favorite song. Put on some tunes that get you pumped and shake that booty. Dance like no one is watching. Trust me it feels good.
3. If you’re lucky enough to live close to the ocean or a body of water, go for swim. Soak up those negative ions and revitalize yourself.
4. Sing in the shower. If you’re short on time why not sing it out in the shower? It always puts me in a great mood.
5. Walk with friends. Socializing is a great way to start the day. Walking and talking is a perfect combo of getting the body energized and feeling the love from friends.
Whether it's exercising, singing, making yourself a beautiful breakfast, playing with your kids, or giving yourself that extra ten minutes to sleep in, find what makes you happy in the morning and give to yourself first. Fill yourself up with happiness, fun and positivity and you will feel energized for the day. :)

Affirmations
"Today my world is changing for the better. I open my awareness to my shifting reality."
The key when saying, and/or reading, affirmations is to feel the feelings they portray. It can help to fully relax and know that at the core of your being, these statements are true. If they feel out of reach or you are having a hard time convincing yourself of their truth, adjust the affirmation to include the words choose, potential, or willing to make them true for you at this moment.
Also, affirmations gain their power from repetition. The more often you say them, the more they will impact your reality. Affirmations are not a one-time-event…say them once and life is perfect. Affirmations are an everyday choice, a choice we make with our thoughts and feelings. The more often you use them, the quicker you will begin to see new opportunities, engage in new healthy behaviors, and feel energized by the direction your life will be taking.

Last night. 3.14.13
I don't think I've every cried like that. Anger were the shower of bullets coming from tears. I frantically wrote out my feelings and stained my sheet with my tears and snot before falling asleep.
I woke up in my sleep, fully conscious when it was still dark, awoken by the fear aroused in my dream. I woke to look all around me, on alert, before falling back asleep.
I woke up close to 9am again, realizing how deep my sleep was to bypass two alarms, bag around eyes swollen like raccoons.
I awoke to brush my do my morning salutation yoga outside in the sun, brush my teeth, play Common's tracks, and do a 7-minute morning work-out with Dr. Oz.
Life.

Ways to Wake Up to a 'Good Morning'
By Dr. F. Emelia Sam
Incorporate a peaceful practice
Since you have some extra time, put it to good use. Find a practice of positivity that speaks to you. Examples include: meditation, deep breathing, writing in a gratitude journal, visualization, etc. This type of activity will help you center yourself before you interact with another.
Whether you sleep alone or with company, these are simple practices that can help improve your disposition. Remember, how you wake up sets the tone for the rest of the day. Take charge; make it so that when you say, “Good morning,” you really mean it.

"I’m a person of movement and I’m grateful that I can still move. For me, life is about change and growth and discovering all the beauty and goodness there is to be grateful for. I’m grateful for the past, but I’m more grateful that I still have time to do new things, to meet new people and to create in new ways. Maybe I should write this on my ceiling so I can read it every morning to motivate myself out of bed."
