Does our life benefit
Does our life benefit the earth?
Does it help the grass to grow and the sun to shine?
Have you passed through this darkness?
New York... is my home
two sweet, sweet words to my ears.
I never thought I'd be so in love with the state I discounted as a concrete jungle.
And that's exactly what I am...
if New York was embodied in a person, I would hold it in my arms and absorb it.
And New York is embodied.
New York is in honesty.
New York is in straightforwardness.
New York is in theater.
New York is in culture.
New York is in struggle.
New York is in seasons.
New York is in crime.
New York is in pain.
New York is in overcoming.
New York is in diversity.
New York is in community.
New York is in my soul.
New York is my home.
Interesting Time in Life
A place of reflection...
I have never been where I am now,
as open,
experiencing,
believing,
disbelieving.
One thing I know,
is that I am alive,
and here,
is somewhere I always want to be.
I miss New York
Can I just say I relate to someone who has ever missed a place.. I yearn for you, New York.

This Day in History: Mubarak Steps Down
Today I woke up to a breaking news text message from the Washington Post saying,
"Egyptian state TV reports President Hosni Mubarak has left Cairo. His destination is unknown."
-received at 6:48 am
The text message really woke me up so I ran to turn on the news and of course open up facebook.
The news then declared, "MUBARAK STEPS DOWN," power cedes to military.
Wow, what a time in history. This is truly a victory for the Egyptian people, but it remains unclear where the country will go from here. Part of me is celebrating in joy with the people of Egypt, part of me is truly concerned for the country and what the new leadership will mean for the world, Israel included and especially. We shall see how history goes. May there be true democracy and may the people know peace.
Long live the revolution for justice.
